West Virginia Bass Federation 2011 State Championship

Bob Harkness is the 2011 WVBF State Champion. Bob also won
the $200 Cabelas Angler Cash, $500 Evinrude Cash, $300 Ranger Cup and Lowrance electronics bonuses.

The West Virginia Bass Federation 2011 State Championship was held on the Kanawha River at Charleston, WV during
October 22-23, 2011. The top 120 anglers from the Northern, Central and Southern State Qualifiers competed for
the 12 coveted spots on the 2012 WVBF State Team that will compete in the Mid-Atlantic Divisional Championship
on the Potomac River next September.
Bob Harkness of Elizabeth, WV and TBF Six Bassmasters won the 2011 WVBF State Championship with 10 bass weighing
13.23 pounds. Bob also won the $500 Evinrude Cash Bonus, $300 Ranger Cup Bonus, $200 Cabela's Angler Cash Bonus
and Lowrance Electronics Bonus. Bob won the 2009 Federation National Championship and $100,000 prize package
that comes with it on Bull Shoals Reservoir and along with the other 11 WVBF team members will be trying to earn
berths into the 2013 National Championship.
North Putnam Bassmaster member Jay Phillips finished in second place with 7 bass weighing 10.68 pounds and had
day one big bass of 3.99 pounds. Brad Billeter of Anglers Six Bass Club took third place with 7 bass weighing
9.63 pounds. Rounding out the top 5 were Brad Napier of Cardinal Bassmasters with 9.14 pounds and Daryl Riggs
of Bear Creek Bassmasters with 9.01 pounds. Ed Bryan of A & B Bassmasters caught the big bass of the tournament
Also, qualifying for the 2012 WVBF State Team were Bob Burgess, Carlos Taylor, Ed Bryan, Brian Hill, Terry Muldrew,
John Smarr, Jeff Goins and alternate Joe Decker. |
