LOWRANCE ENHANCES FLW OUTDOORS SPONSORSHIP, PARTNERS
WITH THE BASS FEDERATION
New
deal includes increased involvement in Wal-Mart FLW Series, new striped bass circuit
MINNEAPOLIS (April 19, 2006) - FLW Outdoors announced today that Lowrance, a world leader in the design, manufacture
and marketing of high-quality marine electronics - encompassing sportfishing sonar and Global Positioning System
(GPS) mapping instruments - has enhanced its sponsorship to include full participation in FLW Outdoors' new striped
bass circuit, set to debut this summer, as well as increasing its support of The Bass Federation, Inc. (TBF).
Lowrance equipment will be used on all official freshwater FLW Outdoors boats and on the new saltwater striper
circuit. In conjunction with its expanded sponsorship agreement, Lowrance will offer TBF a special "Excellence
in Sponsor Marketing" promotional program that will provide significant benefits to each participating TBF
State Federation Chapter - to their state team members, as well as their general membership - through incentive-based
rewards.
For example, the TBF divisional and national winners of the Lowrance Excellence in Sponsor Marketing competition
will be presented sizable cash awards annually that can be used in support of extremely worthwhile TBF state programs.
Participating TBF State Federation Chapters will also be provided free promotional packages of popular Lowrance
tournament support materials. Plus, each participating state chapter can earn up to $1,200 in free electronics
annually, for local tournament giveaways and fundraisers.
This impressive new Lowrance promotional program will recognize and reward TBF State Federation Chapters in a variety
of ways for their positive efforts related to the development of strong youth and conservation initiatives, as
well as growing the sport of bass fishing and promoting sales of Lowrance products.
In addition, Lowrance will step up its presence in the new $6.5 million Wal-Mart FLW Series, which features five
$900,000 qualifying tournaments, each with a top award of $100,000. The FLW Series, which kicked off in early March
on Georgia's Lake Lanier, is scheduled to visit Kentucky's Lake Cumberland May 3-6.
"Within the past few months, we've announced some truly exciting news," said Irwin L. Jacobs, chairman
of FLW Outdoors. "The encouraging thing is that not only have the anglers responded, but our loyal sponsors
have stepped up their support as well."
Jacobs went on to say: "When we initially signed Lowrance as a sponsor, we were pleased to have the industry
leader onboard. Now, with the announcement of the TBF alliance and the new striper trail, we're able to offer an
even better way to promote their products."
Lowrance Vice President of Marketing, Bob Callaway, said: "For almost half a century, we've placed great emphasis
on maintaining very strong ties with avid grass roots tournament anglers like those represented within the TBF
alliance. Their use and endorsement of our products helps sell Lowrance more than you can imagine."
Callaway continued: "We're also equally excited about our expanded FLW Series sponsorship. The new striper
series, in particular, will offer unique new growth opportunities for our Lowrance brand within the coastal markets."
