| Casting Kids. |
On February 22, 2003 Northern Mountaineer Bass Club and the Lewis Wetzel Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation
joined together to host an outstanding youth event at Valley High School in Pine Grove, WV. The center of this
event was the Bassmaster Casting Kids Contest. Clay Ueltschey from Porters Falls, WV won the contest in the 7 -
10 year old group and Breanna Nolan from Jacksonburg, WV won the 11 - 14 year old group.
All 40 participants enjoyed mini-seminars, activities, lunch and door prizes. Fish biology, wildlife identification,
indoor archery, safety facts, professional fishing tips and basketball skills were the seminar topics and activities
presented at the event. Janet Butler - U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Bert Nolan and James Estham - West Virginia
Department of Natural Resources, Doug Nolan - West Virginia Hunter Safety Instructor, John Kocher - Head Basketball
Coach and Instructor from Valley High School, Nancy Richmond - Wetzel County Family Resource Network, Danny Welch
- Triton Pro Staff Team Member, Members of Northern Mountaineer Bass Club and members of the Lewis Wetzel Chapter
of the National Wild Turkey Federation provided instruction during the workshop.
